Fishackathon – National Day of Civic Hacking 2015

The Aquarium of the Pacific & Code for Long Beach invite you to sleep with the fishes & code for the ocean

June 5-7, 2015

The Aquarium of the Pacific is proud to host the 2nd annual Fishackathon in partnership with the U.S. Department of State and GreenWave. The hackathon is an international event calling for coders to come together and create new applications and tools for mobile phones and devices that can provide real-time information to help fishermen work smarter and more safely. It will also improve data and transparency throughout the supply chain and build the capacity for better management and create networks to improve the monitoring of illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

If you are interested in participating in the world’s largest hackathon to support responsible fisheries and aquaculture and developing solutions to improve the global seafood supply. The Aquarium will be open 24 hours to Fishackathon participants from  June 5 –  June 7 (actual times TBD). Food and refreshments will be provided throughout the weekend. Those who wish to spend the night to continue work on their projects will be accommodated.
